Book 1a (53 pages) covers Major and Minor Pentascales (in Parallel and Contrary Motion), Triads, and Cross-Hand Arpeggios, in 2 Units. Each unit contains theoretical discussions of each element, so students understand what they are practicing. Most importantly, in all units there are 5-10 different preparatory exercises which help a student understand how to practice each element. There is also a checklist included at the end of every book so students can track progress and set tempo related goals.
